How it all began...
When we had our first baby, Roma, we noticed that most baby toys are being made in foreign countries and of unnatural materials. We wanted our little daughter to have something natural, something valuable, something that she could pass down to her own children someday. From this desire and our love of woodworking we tried crafting our first wooden baby rattle. To our surprise it turned out better than we had even imagined and with the added touch of wood burning personalized designs, we found that we had created something that all of Roma's friends wanted too. After making many more rattles as gifts, we discovered that there are A LOT of parents looking for safe, natural, heirloom quality toys for their little ones. So here we are, after much perfecting and practice we are happy to be creating well-designed natural wooden Roma Rattles for babies around the world!
Our rattles are safe for tiny teething mouths, fit little hands, and delight baby ears with the happy sounds of pebbles tumbling around inside. We finish our wood with our own baby safe finish made from scratch using treatment free beeswax and food grade mineral oil. For the final touch, we wood burn a custom design, by hand, to personalize each Roma Rattle.

I'm Stephanie, Co-owner and graphic designer of Roma Rattles. I am mama to the sweetest little girl and the inspiration for our rattles, Roma. From day to day I am wife, mom, shop owner and more. Always fueled with coffee and the desire to create beautiful things, I sketch and wood burn each custom design by hand. It's a time intensive process that has really set Roma Rattles apart. |

I'm Tommy, Co-owner and craftsman behind our beautiful rattles. I hand select the very best hard woods to cut, clamp and sand into the iconic Roma Rattle shape. I fill each one with natural pebbles, mix up our own treatment free bees wax and food safe mineral oil finish & rub it into each rattle to protect the wood for years to come. |
